Turn a PDF into a quiz

Upload a PDF and HippoKit writes a scored quiz from its content, mostly multiple choice, with an explanation for every answer. Change any question you do not like, then share the quiz by link or print it.

How it works

  1. Upload the PDF

Create a free account and upload your document. PDF upload is included on the Free plan.

  2. Get the quiz

HippoKit reads the document and writes the questions. A quiz costs 2 credits.

  3. Fix, share or print

Reword a question inline, share the kit by link, or print the quiz (or save it as a PDF) from your browser.

Good to know

  • A finished kit is public by link, and can be found by search engines, unless you set it to private from its share menu.
  • Uploading a PDF needs a free account. Without one you can generate a quiz from a typed topic.
  • The Free plan has 60 credits a month and takes shorter PDFs; longer documents need a paid plan.
  • Questions are AI-written from your document. Read them before you give the quiz to anyone.
  • Most questions are multiple choice; a quiz can also include select-all and short typed answers. Each question has a 30-second timer.
  • Printing or saving as a PDF uses your browser's print view, which works while the kit is public. Print before you set a kit to private.

Questions

Can I turn a PDF into a quiz for free?

Yes. A free HippoKit account includes PDF upload and 60 credits a month, and a quiz costs 2 credits. Longer PDFs need a paid plan.

Do I need an account to make a quiz from a PDF?

Yes, a free one. Without an account you can try HippoKit from a typed topic and get flashcards, a quiz and an ebook, but uploading a PDF needs you to sign in.

Can I edit the questions?

Yes. Edit any question or answer directly in the quiz; the rest is left alone. On the Plus plan and up you can also ask the AI to rewrite just that question.

Are the answers correct?

The quiz is written by AI from your document and can contain mistakes. Each answer comes with an explanation so you can check it. Review the quiz before you use it to test other people.
